Today was the first day of my holiday. I have the pleasure of spending two whole weeks with little Amélie, and today we had a fantastic day. We went to the toddlers group that Joni had been taking her to and had some fun with all the toys, toast and I had a coffee. Its good fun to see her just wandering around playing with stuff and being her own wee person.

Afterwards we took a walk along to Dalmuir park and had some time on the swings, see-saw and running around the park. We walked home via the canal and Amélie had a 3 hour nap when we got home. During these 3 hours I spent the time in the garden doing 2 years worth of weeding and tidying all the growth that is choking the millions of Joni's bulbs, I managed to cut up 2 dead Christmas trees from the last 2 years and then got some of the wood for the chimnea organised for this promising week of good weather, lets hope we get some nights out at the fire.

When Joni returned home from her first day back at full time work, I woke little Amélie up, gave her some lunch and headed out along the canal for a cycle in the cold sunset - it was magical - a complete sky of a red glow. A great day!
