Nairn Fishwife

Cold but nice bright day so went out a little bit along the coast to Nairn. Quite a lot of people on both West and East Beaches but the latter is so vast it seemed almost empty. In a better climate it would be one of the world's foremost beaches. Stuck with the fishwife statue at the harbour marina. Time was when this was a busy fishing town but now the old harbour is now a marina for mostly leisure vessels and we're left with a statue for the tourists (and me).
PS: Watched the 6 o'clock BBC news today but no Scottish news to follow as they're all on strike. When Alex is King there'll be none of this nonsense - it'll be SBC from the start and the BBC can go to hell.
PPS: Alex Salmond is a consummate politico but I don't think he'll ever be "king" - but I'm not counting on it.
