Dragon Drop

In the next cave, we found a dragon. Or, at least, WE thought it was a dragon. Huge, scaly, red eyes, claws, wings... But Cornell explained that it was not real. It was just an hallucination caused by the remnants of the psychoactive drugs that were still in our systems. It was probably a manifestation of an archetypal stereotype or even of something Cornell called “the Collective Id”. I for one was quite relieved. It did make sense - everyone knew that dragons weren’t real. I did harbour a few doubts - as hallucinations went, this was a doozy - it even smelled scary - a musky mix of blood and shit and hot metal. So I was happy to let Cornell go first.

The corridor narrowed after the dragon’s cave and we had to duck as the roof got lower. Behind us we could hear the muffled sounds of Cornell being eaten by the hallucination.

Dragons seem to be a bit of a recurring theme. Motif? Or maybe, I just repeat myself.
