A village remembers
Remembrance Sunday was quite different in many places this year because of the virus and that goes for our village too.
I came across the outdoor service as I was returning from the vet after taking the cat for her annual 'service'. That was a different experience, too.
I'm glad I stopped the car, opened the windows and listened. It was very moving as someone sang Abide with Me beautifully, the vicar read out the names of those men who from the village who had fallen in two world wars and then someone played the Last Post.
The day was damp and misty but we still managed a two-mile walk along the country roads, silent except for the birds calling.
