Mistletoe.
A parasite plant, living off the nutrients and water from a host tree .It may weaken the tree but will not kill it. The white berries are spread by birds from tree to tree. The ancient Druids brought it into the house at Christmas ,to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits. Also a sign of love and friendship when in the 1800's, young men had the privilege of kissing the girls under it.
