My grandfather

My grandfather was a professional soldier - a Second Lieutenant in the Royal Scots Fusiliers. He was killed in the First World War at Giverny in France on 16th June 1915, when my mother was five years old. His body was never found. As a family we always remembered him on Remembrance Sunday, and this photo was on our wall when I was a child. He was only 36 years old.
