Larch fall

Larch fall comes mostly after leaf fall. Lots of people look at pinewoods and just see “oh, conifers, boring” and pass on. But twice a year the larches in otherwise, yes, boring conifer plantations come into their own.

In spring when new growth enlivens the pinewood, with great patches of bright green against a dark background.

In  autumn when the trees turn flame yellow and shed their needles. In this case, all over the road.
