STONE FENCE
I've blipped this stone fence before in other photos....but they were in color. For MonoMonday I decided to convert. There's something about B&W that just brings out the texture of a subject. And rocks have lots of texture. One thing we're not short of in Sheboygan County is rocks.
That, of course, is thanks to glacial activity some 10-12,000 years past. You'll notice the "rounded" shapes of most of the rocks due to glacial ice pushing them along the ground and against each other grinding off any sharp edges. Those of you in mountainous areas of the world will notice the rock difference immediately as eroded rock off mountain slopes typically have sharp, flat edges.
Among these rocks is a smattering of granite. We have no granite in this area of the state but mostly limestone. These are known as glacial erratics and many come from the Canadian Shield (granite rock) and were pushed down this way by glacial movement.
