Tiny Tuesday: Hanging on in quiet desperation

A very English snail here, possibly thinking about enjoying the warmth and sunshine to see if there is anything up here that's worth nibbling at, although I'm not sure that snails have teeth, so perhaps they just slime the leaves to digest them?

When I see a snail like this, it always reminds me of that scene in the Alien film, where they find the field of alien eggs and stupidly start to look more closely at them ....
