Benefit of the Doubt

These arrived at my office the day AFTER Valentine's Day from The Husband. If my Mother's Day card had also not arrived after the occasion, I might not be at all suspicious that the delivery guy was being made to take the fall for someone who forgot.

But I am a lawyer, so I am obliged to give the benefit of the doubt, right?

They smelled and looked pretty, and in the midst of a two-week stretch of miserable headaches, it was still nice to receive them.
