Ceonathus Macro
I've tried many times to take reasonable images of our ceonathus bush (well it's actually more like a tree and stands about 12 feet tall) but never been quite satisfied with the result so I thought I would try a macro photo inside under studio lighting. As one or two of the tiny florets were falling off the main bloom it gave me an idea to focus in on them and leaving the full bloom in the background. Whilst doing this it struck me forcefully just how prolific nature is. Each of the blooms consists of 50-100 florets and our bush must carry hundreds of blooms, so the bush must be creating literally thousands of these tiny florets when it is full flowering mode. At the moment there are only a few blooms as it is into a second season of flowers just prior to winter.
