Shimmer

Dunbar Harbour this evening. The calm, clear, cold day stayed through to the night. I found myself heading to the Volunteer to finish my work reading and on the way there I stopped to see if the bridge was down. It was, but I took a few snaps from there rather than heading over. Turned out well!

Big Bridge.

Straightforward day at work in Edinburgh otherwise, enjoying that sort of thing just now :)

Worth mentioning the camera technique here: Camera on a beanbag on an upturned lobster creel. I read that the D5100 uses "Mirror up" if you're in Live View, so no shake. But of course, Live View focussing is crap. So, I used LV to compose, switched to viewfinder to focus, switched to manual focus, back to LV, set 2 second timer, set 1EV bracketing... and pressed the shutter button. That makes the camera take 3 shots at -1EV, 0EV, +1EV without any more buttons. Perfect.
