Voight-Kampff Test
Holden: They're just questions, Leon. In answer to your query, they're written down for me. It's a test designed to provoke an emotional response.
Leon is glaring now, the blush subsides, his anger slightly diffused. Holden smiles cheerfully, very smooth.
Holden: Shall we continue?
Leon nods, still frowning, suspiciously.
Holden: Describe in single words. Only the good things that come to your mind. About your mother.
Leon: My mother... I'll tell you about my mother.
A quote from Blade Runner where a suspect is tested on their emotional response to check if they are human or replicant. There is some science behind measuring whether somebody has an emotional response to a picture by the speed with which they perceive it, and by the size or the magnitude of the various responses you get. You’ll get an enlarged pupil, increased sweating, increased heart rate, and so on. Might be handy to know with the rise of AI.
