Since the abolition of the gold standard there’s a strong argument that many major currencies (pound, dollar, euro, etc) are actually worthless. Governments keep printing money and what is it backed up by? Nothing but trust :(

Gold on the other hand is real and you can’t print it! For millennia it has been the global currency of choice :)
