Gate hopping
Just a morning shot from a Metro/RER gate. What I realised over time, is that on the RER station the ticket controls seem to be more more frequent than on the Metro, making live harder for the ticketless 'gate hoppers'. Well, there are different gate systems. On the one shown in this picture, hopping is not really the best way forward (unless being very athletic). The solution here it is rather to follow a paying client very closely.
Sometimes I have started to make my personal quiz. Who of my fellow travellers has a ticket, and who will jump/exit the gate without ticket ? With mixed results. But some fare evaders behave much cleverer than others. The very clever ones even in a small group - with a first person (having a ticket) preceding and checking if everything is clear. The other(s) then following.
