A trip into town - empty despite being mid November. A visit to a bank and a shop then a lunch out.

The place is usually buzzing with city types, we were one of only 3 tables. I spoke to the staff, all 5 of them. They are making no money and wonder when they might close down. So sad. The staff spend their time cleaning- the place sparkled and shone.

In my neighbourhood I can't just pop into a restaurant or cafe, they are packed full of people. One owner told us they have restaurants in George Street open Thurs-Sun, but in my neighbourhood they are open 7 days a week from 9.30am - 6pm.

My girl got up very early this morning, watched the sunrise and went to Billingsgate Fish Market to buy squid for tea. What a lovely thing to do. She is making the most of her lockdown holiday.
