On the bike ride this morning we went past the scene of our latest tragedy. Don't have the details yet but this is a rare occurance.

In the six years that we have lived here, I can recall three house fires. One was because of a lighted cigar tossed into the trash . One was caused by the lighted cigarette of an inebreated sleeper. The third was caused by a lightning strike.

Some 90% of the Fire Department calls are for their ambulances. Others are calls to remove critters and for replacement of smoke detector batteries.

OOPS! there was also a conflagration at the Fire Station caused by faulty wiring in the electronics room.
