A water tank erected in the 1940's
Passing the site of an old woollen mill, mostly destroyed by a fire, in the 19th Century lies this cast iron water tank. It was then that Incredibish suggested we return home by a different route. One always forgets the sheer amount of soil that can be carted home on walking boots when the soil is heavily wet and how weighty they become. Trying to avoid the wettest parts of the fields and the clumps of clay merrily springing off my boots onto my leggings kept my mind quietly full during the 'different route'!
