My lucky day

The sun was shining so I decided to go a walk down the canal. I took my old canon powershot super zoom camera in case I got lucky and saw the kingfisher. It was busy fishermen, dog walkers, cyclists but I took my time really looking at the canal edge. I met a lovely couple who had come on the train and were walking back along the canal. We had quite a chat. They said the train was empty. Had a sit on my favourite bench then carried on and just as I was nearing where I turn off the canal to walk home by road I saw the turquoise. I zoomed in and yes it was the kingfisher. I got 3 shots walking closer each time, quietly, before it flew off. Managed to see where it had gone and only got one shot before it flew under the bridge away. I was delighted. Walked home happy to have seen the kingfisher and hoping at least one shot was in focus. This was the best and my best to date. Just shows you those old cameras still do their stuff!
