Emerald Lake Lioson ....

.... on the way down from the Pic Chaussy that we had to climb mainly on old snow for the last 300m, quite exciting!  There was a special moment when two chamois were chasing each other as it is the rut at the moment. The one in the extra stopped and looked round as it got to the ridge, so tiny against the Gastlosen Range in the background. A great day out topped off with a distant sighting of a herd of male bouquetins also competing for superiority as they prepare their rut too, too far away to take any good shots.
