Surprise lake

Yet another lovely sunny day. We found out that the pass over to Les Diablerets closes for the winter today ( no snowflakes in sight though) so decided to do a walk in that area ( can still get there in winter but a long way round). A fabulous circular walk with an elevation of about 450m....and wonderful views, including my blip of  the Arnensee. This lake us in a German / Swiss German speaking Canton of Bern. We passed quite a few walkers greeting us in Swiss German rather than ' bonjour'. 
Treated ourselves to cakes from the local patisserie on the way home. 
Extra: stemless dwarf thistle ( thanks google) ...so many of them and they 'shine' in the sunshine.
