Me and my shadow!
Friday
It’s been a lazy week, not sleeping well, and feeling lacking energy has led to late rising times and breakfasts. For Roger’s Mums memorial service on Wednesday, where they won’t be able to sing, our brother in law John is putting together a virtual “choir“. He has recorded himself, playing the organ with Janet and himself singing, and sent it out to us and the girls, and to family in Guernsey who also won’t be able to go, and we are to record our voices and he will merge it altogether. That way, they have music to listen to at the service, and we will feel we are a part of the service, as well as joining by Zoom on the day. So thankful for modern technology in these trying times. So I recorded one of the hymns this morning, and we sent it to John for comments before doing the other two tomorrow. I must admit I wasn’t very impressed with the sound of my voice - you just don’t sound the way you think you do! Roger’s rather congested at the moment, so he’ll have a go tomorrow, hoping he’s a little clearer by then! I was pleasantly surprised to know that Jen had done it - she’s no longer a church goer, and wouldn’t be very familiar with the hymns, and I don’t think she thinks much of herself as a singer, so I had thought she may not want to. Laura is very musical and has a beautiful voice, so we knew she would want to do it, but we also know she tends to procrastinate, so we did send her a message, pointing out John wants them in tomorrow so he can start putting it together! Once again, just a local walk today, and nowhere near my 10,000 steps. The late afternoon sun shining on this wooden fence and the fallen leaves caught my eye, together with my shadow!
