About to turn

Grays Harbor

A blustery, rainy, sleeting day with occasional surprising rainbows. This morning the tide was the highest I’ve ever seen, lapping the top of the bulkhead that’s a mere dozen feet from the house. The tide tables put it at the third highest of the year, with the second highest tomorrow before we leave.

My grandparents bought this house in 1969, and my folks bought it from them decades later. A couple years have passed since I’ve been here, so today’s been full of visiting familiar sights like the fishing boat harbor (very quiet), Half Moon Bay (gale flags up), the cranberry bogs, and Washaway Beach.

Hope you all have a good weekend!
