Are dogs supposed to climb trees?

Another beautiful day, frosty round the edges but it is going to be warm and sunny later. Early morning dog walk proved eventful with three springer spaniels chasing a squirrel. If you look closely you will see Ella on one of the higher branches far higher than I was comfortable with. I thought she might get stuck but no in true springer fashion she turned around, sprang from the branch, landed softly on the ground and continued hunting. Watch out squirrel!
