Iron Bridge

In the middle of the Haigh Plantations Woodland Park, just outside town, stands an old iron bridge which passed over the long-disused Whelley Loop railway line running through the area long ago.
In the middle of Autumn, with the paths hidden by leaves, it always looks like the bridge serves no purpose whatever, and leads to and from nowhere!
I visited early this morning, when the damp mist and pale light made the whole area seem quite ethereal.
