Out West
A lovely day for a trip over to Stromness to replenish my wool supplies. It's a 70 mile round trip to Elaine's shop, so usually involves lunch at Julia's bistro/cafe but these days they are closed and are doing takeaways only. We bought sandwiches and took them to the bach at Warbeth, where we are them in the car, watching the waves.
Growing up in Lytham St Annes, as kids we would see old people in their cars every weekend, parked up watching the sea, with their newspapers and sandwiches, their thermos and their knitting, sitting outside on folding chairs in the summer, still muffled up though. We couldn't understand it. Now it's Mike and me! How did that happen?! Ah well!
We had a good run around on the beach, Lottie chasing pieces of kelp stipes and digging in the sand, having a great time! I bought enough wool to keep me knitting for months, so I was happy too! Mike had a crab salad roll and a date slice so that meant all three of us had a good day out!
