Saturday
Thousands arrived in DC, which was more than the 16 I expected but fewer than the organizers were hoping for. Things were basically kept under control by the police.
I went to Patuxent park. They used to have a silly large statue of a bluebird looking through a telescope but it is not there now. Through the window of the visitor’s center I saw these enticing lollipops. I liked the brake bumpersticker. In memory of Admirer.
We think we know what we’re going to do about the dental care. We think numbers in our area and in NY will only get worse, for months, so it would be smart/safer to go as soon as possible. (I think it will be worse after Thanksgiving, and then worse after Christmas, so we aren’t likely to have better numbers until February at the earliest.)
We are thinking of just staying at Karen’s parents - I can work upstairs - until she can get in to see the dentist as soon as he has a cancellation. In the unlikely event that she catches Covid at the dentist’s office, it would take about a day before she’d be contagious, so within a day of seeing the dentist we’d head back home so that if she did catch it she wouldn’t spread it to her parents. (I think leaving directly from the dentist’s office would be safer so we need to know what this one day theory is based on.)
We’d have to make a second trip so they could install the crown. In theory they’d see her a third time to make sure everything is ok but we think that third step could be skipped unless it was clear there was a problem.
