New Market

We took Hamish to Squalicum Harbor today on our first visit to the new Bellingham Dockside Market, which enables local fishermen to sell their catch/harvest directly to their customers.

Available today were oysters, crab, black cod/sablefish (fresh or smoked), salmon, tuna, and sea urchin. We came home with a dozen local oysters for Phil this afternoon and a pound of delicious smoked black cod for us to share over several meals. The black cod was purchased from the boat in the extra photo.

It was cold and very windy, so the Dramatic Tone option on my camera seemed to fit the scene. Hamish delighted in meeting many new dogs and we connected with some friends we hadn't seen in months.

Everyone there was wearing a mask, as required, and maintaining more distance between one another than we would have this time last year.

You can see Hamish and me in Phil's journal.

P.S. My previous blip of Kamala Harris, vice president-elect, as seen on Phil's iPad, was removed by Blipfoto. I intentionally included the iPad so it was clear that I hadn't taken her photo myself; it seems a shame that we cannot include images like that during this very important election season.
