Grave robbers - Callander
Tucked between the river and the town centre in Callander, under the shadow of Ben Ledi, is this graveyard with a gruesome history.
For the octoganal building in the corner is a watchtower built to provide shelter for the night watchmen whose job it was to prevent the grave robbers digging up corpses to sell to the medical schools and surgeons.
This practice was at its heights between 1820 and 1830, the heyday of bodysnatching.
There was a shortage of fresh bodies for the students to cut up and some men recognized it as a business opportunity.
