Topless

We took a different path through the woods today, and spotted these topless tree trunks.  We thinks that the tops have been removed professionally, because the trees were posing a danger to the nearby houses.  A couple of years ago, one of the big beeches fell onto a house, damaging part of the roof, and destroying the garage.
