High Facade Up Close

This is a distant building opposite our Paris apartment in the 13th arrondissement, showing probably the 4th and 5th floors (5th & 6th in the U.S.), with glancing light in the late afternoon. There are many thousands of comparable buildings in Paris, but it's not easy to capture their ornate features quite like this. Bits of closer buildings are at the bottom of the frame. Details are vivid in large.

We're on the 4th floor, with a fabulous vista--here is a much broader view; this image is directly below the high circular tower on the right. It's just over a month later and the sun hits at a different angle. On the map I;ve marked roughly the location of that building--not ours. I've added this to the long series of views from the apartment.
