Young Ash trees
It's funny how you notice something for the first time. I walk along this stretch of the canal on most days, but I hadn't noticed all these spindly young ash trees springing up. They are everywhere. Unfortunately for them, the canal custodiians will come along at some point with their tractor to trim the bank, so these trees will never mature. But I'm sure, further back, there is a much cut back ash which has made it over the years by hanging over the canal bank. There is always hope
