Cormorants

We went to a local reservoir for a longer walk this morning. It was very windy and the storm clouds were gathering for the heavy rain and gales force winds we have had this afternoon. The light was very flat and poor but this image of the cormorants sitting on the bare branches of the tree in the water seems symbolic of the weather and day.
I have enjoyed a chat with Wendy this afternoon talking through various recent events and the progress of projects. The kind of Christmas that we will have this year seems to be increasingly occupying time in the news and in people's thoughts. Time for lateral thinking rather than trying to find ways of keeping things 'normal' - whatever that might mean.
