Rutland Alps

I drove the van over to Oakham today to try on winter cycling shoes/boots. The holy grail still eludes me. Anyway, to make the journey worthwhile I also went for a walk in this the hilliest area close to me. All things relative of course but it was a nice change to go up and down a bit. Rutland Water is looking very full. As per my current tradition I finished at dusk, so admired the town’s low key Christmas lights and felt so sorry for all the little independent shops, with their seasonal window displays, all closed.
