Hidden Colours

First joint walk of the week, and we returned to our regular trek around Ardington and Lockinge.  Truly RRDD - Regular Route, Different Day.

The weather was dry, but the land was showing signs of the recent rains.  The 'ford' at the Ardington/Lockinge junction was back with vengeance, despite the watercourses being bone dry only a few days ago.  But I guess that is the nature of this chalk landscape.

We spotted this on lone flower hidden in a gap in the wall alongside Lockinge Brook.  I think that it is a Greater Periwinkle (rather than a Myrtle) but I could be wrong.  I would say that it has literally found its niche!
