urban
everyday, well almost every day, i get to see this view.
my beautiful bike
the green bin
our black garage
and the lovely red brick.
oh the joys!
but im learning to like the urban views
but still prefer this view.... or this one.
today, i had the absolute privilege of hearing the life story of a man who survived the horrific days of the Rwandan genocide. it was tragic and the room was hushed and tense. the man has seen half his family betrayed by his cousin, been up rooted, fled for his life, thought his pregnant wife was dead, sough asylm here in the UK and now lives here with his wife and 5 kids.
it was part of a lecture series on geopolitics of ethnic identities and it shook me to the core.
