Day 242 Not too early for tinsel
Today, unusually, we had to take Violet to school and fetch her too, as her mummy had to work. I didn't have a lot of time to create an abstract so I've contented myself with a shot of a new tinsel garland that will be used to decorate the Christmas tree. I've given it a 'twirl' and made it more or less mono: I began with gold tinsel and an off white background.
As life has been rather miserable this year, with not much prospect of doing normal Christmassy things( our Santa Special train ride on 29 November has had to be cancelled for starters), Violet's Elf on the Shelf has made a rather early appearance. She has decided the her elf is a girl called Candyfloss and for that last couple of days we've been charged with creating the mischievous scenarios. Violet is young enough to want to believe in the magic of it all, so it's lovely to see her reaction when she discovers Candyflosses latest escapade. This morning she decided that we needed to make a jail house for her, for when she'd been extra naughty, so around teatime having scoured the internet for ideas, daughter #1 and I found ourselves constructing said jail from a cardboard box, Christmassy wrapping paper and candy canes. The Son suggested that we use a face mask as a hammock which we have done to make it relevant to 2020. At some point I will photograph it and post a pic here. We had fish and chips for dinner as no one felt like cooking!
Many thanks as always to our regular Abstract Thursday host, Ingeborg
