FLOWER FRIDAY - SCHLUMBERGERA

…commonly known as Christmas Cactus and even Thanksgiving Cactus.  Mr. HCB and I have been watching this plant with interest, hoping that it would produce flowers in time for Flower Friday and it has.

A friend’s son gave this to me two years ago, and although I don’t normally do well with house plants, this one seems to thrive in our downstairs cloakroom, where it gets some light, but minimal watering, so I was delighted to see all the buds forming a few weeks ago and today is the day for its 15 minutes of fame on Blip.

I had a disturbed night with my hand feeling rather sore, so gave it the hot water treatment this morning, as I usually do, but I think it’s going to take more than that to loosen it up today and being a cold and wet day doesn’t help, so again, I apologise for not commenting but thank everyone for their kind comments for yesterday’s Blip - so glad most of you could see the owl and other things that I never saw.
