Blending in...

... with the colours of the autumn leaves, this chaffinch didn't need to work hard looking for food; it was sensibly wandering amongst the bed of leaves, directly under a bird feeder.

Other birds, like the nuthatch in my extra, were attacking the bird feeder with such gusto, spilling lots of food down to the ground. No wonder the chaffinch looked well fed.
