Canvey Heights.

This is a bit of a misnomer.  I always understood that Canvey Island lies below sea level.  I had to give the car a run as the particulate filter light was on again so I chose Canvey Island and thought I would check out the wildlife park that is "Canvey Heights".  I found it once before on a previous photo trip to Smallgains boatyard, laughed at its name but never went through the fancy big double gates suspecting that they were going to be the best bit about it...and so it was!
That's unfair I know.  There were signs that a real effort has been made with lots of tree plantings, managed pathways etc. and this view along towards Southend.  The dull day didn't help but I did find out from the Info. board that it was a former landfill site - so well done, in some years time when all the saplings mature I'm sure it will be lovely but just not all that great on a dull day.
