Had a lovely day today visiting the Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden. We had been thinking of going for a while any way as the children are really enjoying his books at the moment, but Charlotte came home from school on Friday with Roald news. The school are all looking at his work at the moment, and the fancy dress day for World Book day has a Roald theme. This sealed the deal really so off we popped.

There is lots to do and see - we took a walk around the village to see where some of the inspiration in his books came from, saw his grave, and then went into the museum itself.

We sat in on some story telling - now obviously the stories were fabulous but the reader had a really annoying high pitched voice, quite different from her normal speaking voice, and spoke so fast we barely got a word. We shall have to read them at home to work out what they were.
The children also went to the talk about his writing hut. It must have lasted not far off half an hour and they loved every minute.
What a lovely day.

Tomorrow we venture to London to see Singin' In The Rain at the theatre - let's hope for another fabulous day.
