Two requests sent us into the family archives.

First of all, my primary school great-niece is doing a project on the Victorians and to answer her questions Dad had to dig around in a box of stuff inherited from his great-great aunt (in service in the royal household mid-late 1800s). This makes her my great-niece's 4xgreat aunt. I think. I think she looks pretty grand for a nursemaid and lady's maid (Extra). .

Then my sister got in touch looking for photos of Dad on stage for a blog she's been asked to write at work. Here he is in costume for "Tobias and the Angel" at The Gateway Theatre, Edinburgh, early 1960s.
