Homework
It was a dangerous day today, no real plan, that generally spells a bit of a rubbish day with the boys getting board and irritated. However, we nailed it.
Husband was off early this morning, I was up early as a result and spent a lovely 45 minutes reading. A bike ride was given a firm thumbs down, so I took the boys to the garden centre, which was beautifully quiet. Seemed to spend more than I intended, which always happens in garden centres. However, we had a good time, like all good garden centres they had all the all manner of Christmas decorations which the boys loved - they were allowed to choose one thing each and were so happy. Spent the afternoon in the garden before retiring inside for homework. The task was to create a model of a futuristic method of transport - which I think is pretty ambitious for a 5 year old! We did our best and I stayed out of the ideas bit as much as possible to ensure it was all his own work - relegated to chief scissor operator...
The puppy has taken to sleeping upstairs when the boys go to bed, I think he has ideas about where he should sleep all night, but it isn't happening. He's' about to get turfed out of his little den for the rest of the night.
Today I'm grateful for:
Quiet morning spent reading
Afternoon in the garden, potting up a few things with great help from the eldest
The eldest embracing his homework with such gusto - although there were tears when the youngest joined in and threatened to use his blue pen on the model, which apparently is the very worst thing that could possibly happen....
