Long John Silver

As a child I must have had a copy of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island, illustrated by Mervyn Peake. Some of the images have long haunted me : Blind Pugh tapping along the road frightened me.  It's taken me until now to buy myself a copy and read it again. Some Xmases ago The National Theatre did a wonderful production very faithful to the text.
