Smardale Gill

A bright morning and we went to Smardale Gill for a good walk. It’s all looking good and the viaduct is open again so you can do the circular walk.
I disappeared into deep mud at one point but apart from that it was great! Just as we were returning to the car we had a beautiful view of a red squirrel eating a nut from the feeder and running across the rope walk which made a perfect end to the expedition.
Unfortunately we are now sitting by candlelight as there is a power outage. We haven’t had those for years! I have a couple of beeswax candles so ok for the moment!
