Cambridge city centre is taking on a distinct wintry feel. Christmas decorations have been strung up along some streets and alleys, although this year festive cheer is likely to be in relatively short supply.

The popular gelato shop remains open via a window to the street, which is noteworthy optimism in the current weather.

A saxophonist was piping tunes down one of the main shopping streets. That was probably the highlight of my shuffle around town at lunchtime.

In the evening, I got into the show Lucifer, which provided some much-needed chuckles.
