Popping To The Shops
My Dear Princess and Dear Fellows,
I accompanied Caro to her mammogram today.
Yes. I know. I wasn't sure if that was the "done" thing either. Caro was equally confused.
"Do you WANT to come?" she asked, when I made the offer to accompany her.
"No," I said. "But you like me to come with you when they want to take blood."
She thought about this.
"You can come if you want to," she repeated.
"I don't WANT to," I replied. "Is it the same as giving blood? I thought it might be like when you give blood."
"Well. I suppose it's a walk," she decided.
So I went. But I was the only husband there. I could see all the wives looking at me and thinking, "HER husband came with her." And then planning on being REALLY SNIPPY with their husbands when they got home.
HUSBAND: What's wrong?
WIFE: Well if you don't KNOW, then there's no point me TELLING you, is there?
HUSBAND: You called me an arsehole And I didn't do anything!
WIFE: EXACTLY.
It was a nice walk, and on our way home Caro decided to pop in to the furniture shop to buy a sofa-bed.
Well. No. Not a sofa-bed. I'm not sure what you call it. It's an ottoman that flips out into a bed. An otto-bed?
Anyway it was a grand. So not exactly a cheap trip to the store. But at least my wife is still talking to ME.
S.
p.s. Whenever I see a giraffe, I feel compelled to take a picture of it for the Princess.
