Egrets!

In fact - birds everywhere. Until last year I had never seen an egret, then one Little Egret camped out at the mere for a couple of months in the Autumn. Over the last few weeks several more have moved in - we now appear to have six - and then the Great Whites turned up - and we now have three of those! Wow!
Then there are the cormorants - thirty at the last count. What is the collective noun for cormorants? Squadron?? They look a bit like pterodactyls perched on trees watching for the few fish they have left behind!
I know the pic is rubbish but is shows off the impressive GWE wing span!
