Kit's Year

Take It All In Their Stride

I left Sushi and Mr Kit setting off for some driving practice and to buy parts for some small diy projects for the day as I headed up to the yard.

I was helping Mel to move horses around as she was weaning the foal and so needed to move his mother to a new location. It was a military operation but we managed and the foal seemed to cope better than his mum.

Once it had all settled Mel, Ali and I went for a hack out on Leppie, Monty and China. Against all odds we had a really good ride. It started with one of the other horses having a bucking fit and sending her rider flying before we even left the yard (luckily no serious injuries), we had a car alarm go off as we were along side it, we had half a mile of roadworks and every man and his dog were out for a Sunday afternoon stroll, drive or cycle making the roads crazy busy...we are so lucky to have horses that just take it all in their stride and they all stayed completely relaxed and didn’t put a foot wrong.

By the time I was heading home, the sun was starting to set and the skies were starting to go a beautiful pink colour.
