Such a good little collie

Last night Ann felt so ill and tired that she went to bed at 7.45pm. Obviously if Ann goes to bed at 7.45pm then I have to go to bed at 7.45pm. This morning she dragged herself out of bed at 7.15am and took me for a little walk around the block for toileting purposes. She thought I might be desperate but I wasn't. How good am I?

A couple of hours later she said, 'Trixie, I've cancelled my gym session & swim today so we'll go up the hill in the car and you can play with your ball for half an hour. So that is what we did. Playing with a ball really tires me out. I started flopping down after 10 mins, but Ann made me play for half an hour because she needed to wear me out.

I got very worn out. And so did Ann. So we both just had to lie on the sofa for the next few hours. I've just had another little trek around for half an hour but that has worn us out again so we've had to have another hour on the sofa.

I'm such a good little collie though. I just fit in with whatever Ann wants to do and I don't make a fuss if I don't get big mammoth walks.

Anyway Ann still doesn't feel great but at least she doesn't think she has COVID. She's got that 'Zoe Covid-19' app on her phone so reports in every day as to how she's feeling and today when she said she wasn't feeling normal she had to read through a big long list of ailments and tick any that applied. Apart from feeling tired and to be honest she's been tired since the start of lockdown she didn't tick any of the other things. Aching all over and a sore back wasn't one of the options??!!

Just to be on the safe side though, she googled, 'how to get a COVID test in Edinburgh'. Apparently there's a drive through test centre at Edinburgh Airport. Well that's one of the worst places in Edinburgh to drive to at the best of times so she won't be doing that. And actually, come to think of it, we're pretty sure Edinburgh Airport is in West Lothian so that would mean she'd be driving into a Tier 4 area and that's not allowed. Or there's a walk in centre at the Usher Hall. But if you're exhibiting COVID symptoms, you need an appointment to go to these two places and the website states that you should not use public transport or taxis to get there. That means Ann would have to walk and she really hasn't got the energy to walk half an hour there and half an hour back. And anyway, she wouldn't get an appointment because she is not exhibiting any symptoms.

…...............And yes, we are well aware that some people have been lying about their symptoms just so that they can get a test. But seriously...................... what is the point of that? All the test tells you is whether you actually have COVID on the day that you took the test. Who's to say you won't have it a few days later? And to be honest, if you're taking a test when you really don't need one, then that is stopping other people who might be more needy from getting one.

…...................And no, Ann won't be sending off for a 'do it yourself' test because she wouldn't be able to 'do it herself'. She's far too squeamish to be able to stick anything up her nose or down her throat!!!! And just to digress slightly, Ann's sister had to do a COVID test and she ended up dislocating her jaw in the process??!!

Anyway, Ann is pretty sure she's not got COVID, so she's just going to cancel her gym/swims for the next few days, she's got plenty of food in , so she doesn't actually have to go out anywhere or do anything apart from look after me.
